Video Adapter & Monitor Setup | |

The following gives some suggestions for changing your | |
| 1. | Right click on an open area of the Desktop |
| 2. | Select Properties |
| 3. | Select Settings. This should bring up a screen similar to the one below. |
 | |
| 4. | If you can't change your color resolution or screen area to one you know your video card and monitor can handle, you probably need to configure one or both. Typically this is only being able to select 16 colors or a screen size less than what your monitor is actually capable of. |
| 5. | Click on the Advanced button. This should bring up something similar to the following screen. |

| 6. | If you want to be able to eventually change your screen resolution and color depth on the fly, check Show settings icon on the task bar |
| 7. | If you want to apply the settings without restarting, check that box as well |
| 8. | Click on the Adapter tab which will bring up something similar to the following screen |

| 9. | Make sure you have the correct video adapter selected. If not, click the Change button and install it according to the manufacturer's instructions. |
| 10. | Enter a video refresh that your monitor can handle. I prefer something over 60 Hz otherwise noticeable flicker can occur. |
| 11. | Click on the Monitor Button. This should bring up a screen similar to the one below. |

| 12. | Make sure your monitor is either and exactly the same as the one you have or is similar enough in performance. If you need to make a change, click on the Change button. |

| 13. | If all you need to do is update the drive, select that option and click on the Next button. |
| 14. | If you need to install a new monitor type, select Display a list of all .... |
| 15. | Then select Show all Hardware to see a list of all the supporter monitors. Select the one that is closest to your actual monitor. |

| 16. | When you have both your video adapter and monitor correctly identified and configured, you should now be able to go back and select the color depth and screen size you want. |
