Windows 8.1 Adding Programs to Startup

1. With the new right click option in Windows 8.1 it is easier to add programs you would like to automatically start up after you log in
2. For example, I like to have Outlook start.
3. Go to the Start screen
4. Click on the down arrow to show all your applications
5.. Right click on the application you would like to have start automatically. In the following example, I selected Outlook
6. Select Open file location
7. This will bring up the location where the program is started. Again, in this example it is for Outlook
8. Right click and select Copy
9. On your computer, from the same Explorer window, go to:C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Where USERNAME is replaced by the name of the user that is logging in.

10. Then select Paste Shortcut
11. After that, the next time you log on, that program will start automatically.
