Configuring Windows7 for a
Static LAN IP Address

1. There may be situations like Remote Access where you need to configure the computer with a Static LAN IP address
2. Go to the Control Panel / Network and Sharing Center
3. On the right side, click on Local Area Connection

Click on the Properties button

5.

Double Click on the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)

Enter in all the unique IP information for your computer. The following is only an example.

Click on Ok, Ok and Close buttons
8. If you are configuring the computer for things like Remote Access, then you need to configure the port mapping on your router
9. The steps are different for each router but basically you need to enter in the port and have it mapped to the static IP address of the computer
