Windows7 Basic Installation

The following is a basic overview on the new Windows7 Installation
Process |

1. | This is just a general overview of the
Installation Process for the upcoming Windows 7 Operating system |
|
2. | So far I have installed both the 32 and 64
bit versions on two different computers |
|
3. | The installation was
extremely fast and easy on each |
|
4. | For example, from start to finish, on the
64-bit version was just under 20 minutes !! |
|
5. | Booting from the DVD and the very beginning
took about 2 minutes. The only prompts are the Language, Time and
Currency Format, and the Keyboard |
|
6. | Expanding the files took about 8
minutes |
|
7. | Reboot and complete the installation
took about 6 minutes |
|
8. | First Use with the User and Computer
Name etc. took about another 3 minutes to the desktop |
|
9. | Then there is the
boot time. On the same computer, compared to Vista, Windows7 boots
approximately 30% faster.
|
|
10. | Other things with the basic Windows 7
Installation: |
|
11. | The Sidebar Gadgets are not installed
automatically. |
|
12 | The memory usage is vastly improved.
For example, on the 32-bit system, it was under 700 megs. |
|
13. | A lot of unnecessary services are not
started as with Vista |
|
14. | A complete install,
with the following applications installed and configured, along with
approximately 300 megs of updates took only two hours Acoustica
